Week 1
We are representatives for the dogs with cancer, a challenged based learning project. Our names are Ally, Ava, and Jesse. We go to Windward school. For the next couple of months we will be learning all about Cancer in dogs and trying to find a way to prevent the disease as best we can. We became a group because we all love animals and wanted to help animals with cancer. Follow us on our journey to cure dogs with Cancer.
Week 2
Hey guys this week we have selected our main topic as Dogs with Bone Cancer, that have been previously amputated. We have found that dogs are more likely to have this cancer due to a previous injury in the bones, but usually have to get amputated. We have also been contacting veterinarians to find more information on the disease itself. We are trying to help dogs after the treatment and better improve their lives. We also want them to have a more comfortable lifestyle and live a happy life. Research shows that after treatment dogs can get depressed and be traumatized after the accident or surgery. Our goal is to help dogs create more comfortable prosthetic legs.
Week 3
This week we have decided to focus on creating an online website that can help actively improve your dog after treatment of amputation. The website will soon be up on this same page! The purpose of the website is to help the owners keep their amputated dogs healthy. We have found during research that it is hard to keep amputated dogs healthy, for example; weight, exercise, and emotional drama from the surgery. This website will help dogs and their owners have better lives.
Week 4
This week we have made the website and are constantly adding to it. The page is linked above, it called Your Dog's Health. This website will help your dog live a healthier and longer life. Also we are planning to create times that all amputated dogs can get together and not feel alone and different. The website will helps dogs everywhere.
Week 5
This week we have been constantly adding to the website. New information is always being put up. We are really trying to make a difference so if the website is helping you are your dog please let us know! If you go to the page Your Dog's Health, there you will find information for each different breed. There will be all amounts of food your dog should be eating based on weight and breed. Also the amount of exercise your dog should be receiving a day.
